Teachers need to know how to screenshot too! 5 Steps to Online Safety
5 Steps to Internet Safety -Being able to take a screen capture is a very important skill for teachers. If inappropriate material is found it really helps if teachers can illustrate the material to facilitate the process of blocking the site quickly. In the event of an error having a screen shot allows the IT help technicians to focus on the exact problem which helps to speed up the process of repairing the problem.
"I have uploaded a copy of this to DocStoc and if you are using it at school to print and hand out to teachers, students, or parents in a non-profit manner (this means you're not making money off presenting the seminar) then go ahead and print away. I am happy to share with schools and those who want to help others and are not profiting from it." COOL CAT TEACHER from 5 Steps to Online Safety

WordItOut - a new Word Cloud Application
A Word Cloud is an attractive arrangement of randomly positioned words, where the most important words are bigger than the others.
Made with WordItOut
- Some people use them to summarise documents, reports or even answers to questionnaires.
- Others simply think they look nice as pieces of art.
New app approved- Student Response System- Stu Hasic
Student Response Network (SRN) is a powerful “virtual Clicker” student response system designed for use in school computer labs or with wireless laptop groups. It does away with the need for personal handheld “clicker” devices by providing a software-only solution for use with networked Windows desktops or laptops.
"SRN is a great add-on for QuizBoxes – have a look here: http://studentresponsenetwork.com/2009/11/29/playing-quizboxes-with-srn-clients-as-buzzers/ – this buzzer will give the first in and show who was second, third, fourth etc, but without timings.
I have response times and timeouts on the cards for the next major release of SRN along with some other great new features, but we can’t expect them until later in 2010." Stu HasicWednesday, February 3, 2010
Animoto for Educators now available.
I was delighted to read on A hand-picked set of free Web programs to take to school this fall in the School Library Journal that: "Animoto became a hip, new resource used by librarians for creating quick library book trailers or attention-getting announcements.
However, most of us quickly discovered that our hard work was often blocked by school filtering systems. Now, the service has helped us to solve the accessibility problem by providing their Animoto for Educator's site, which allows K-12 educators the ability to use the software to create exceptional clips for use in the classroom without the fear of unwanted content being accessed by students."

How does 3D work?
This imaging technology is so fast, it can actually produce TWO images on the screen at the same time: One for the “left” eye and one for the “right” eye. Then 3D glasses combine the two images to create an amazing 3D effect. Learning in 3D
